A streamlined Pomodoro productivity app focusing on student social connections and interweaving exercise with productivity.
UX/UI, Wireframing, Prototyping
This project was a UX and UI redesign of an existing productivity app, '30/30,' which utilizes the Pomodoro timing method to help users complete daily tasks. There were loose constraints on the extent of the redesign; some people decided to only redesign the visual language, and I chose to redesign the entire information architecture and visual language. Our final product needed to be a clickable prototype with at least two valuable and delightful microanimations. Using Sketch, Illustrator, and Principle, I prototyped my take on 30/30, creating a more targeted, streamlined, and useful experience.
FINAL PROJECT FLOW
A STREAMLINED TASK-MAKING FLOW.
Breaks are automatically integrated into the flow, as opposed to 30/30's original cumbersome and slow flow.
MOTIVATION TO STUDY.
Students often study with their friends and in public spaces to motivate themselves to study. Why not utlize this in a student productivity app? The app's planning calendar has colored dots for days that you and your friend already have study sessions planned. Darker-colored dots indicate a very busy day for both parties.
UTILIZING 3D-TOUCH TO PRESENT A CLEAN, SIMPLE, AND NON-DISTRACTING TIMER.
Paying homage to the very gesture-based original 30/30 design, 3D touch is an intuitive way to hide elements that don't necessarily need to be seen all the time. Hovering over the desired function and releasing activates the function.
A SIMPLIFIED WAY TO ADJUST THE TIMER.
By pulling your finger up or down, the user can fluidly and easily adjust the time.
A SOCIAL REWARD AND MOTIVATIONAL SYSTEM.
On top of being much more motivated to study after creating a Study Buddy Session with someone, the user may also choose to FaceTime their Study Buddy briefly during breaks to further alleviate tension and stress.
